What is Underhood?
Underhood is a vehicle maintenance and fuel tracking app for car and truck owners. It keeps DIY services, shop repairs, receipts, mileage, fuel purchases, and maintenance reminders in a private household garage.
Can I track oil changes and repairs from a shop?
Yes. Log oil changes and routine DIY maintenance with the date, mileage, supplies, and cost. Record shop visits with repair details, invoices, and receipts. Keep recommended work that was not completed in Shop follow-ups.
Can Underhood track fuel economy and vehicle costs?
Yes. Record fuel purchases, gallons, prices, and odometer readings to track MPG between full tanks. View recorded fuel, oil change, repair, and other running costs over time, including cost per mile when enough mileage data is available. Insurance, registration, and depreciation are not included.
How much does Underhood cost, and how many vehicles are included?
Individual is $5/month for 1 user and 2 vehicles. Family is $10/month for unlimited vehicles and up to 6 users, including the owner. All features are included. Early access is free while payments are paused. Both plans include a 30-day free trial once subscriptions launch. No card is required. Your trial starts on your first app or account visit after launch and acceptance of the current terms. After 30 days, choose whether to subscribe: Individual is $5/month; Family is $10/month. Saved records remain viewable and exportable if you do not subscribe. Complimentary accounts stay free.
Does Underhood automatically import manufacturer maintenance schedules?
Automatic manufacturer schedule lookup is not connected yet. You can use your exact owner’s manual to enter time and mileage intervals, or review intervals drafted from uploaded maintenance pages. VIN lookup can fill available vehicle identification details; it does not provide service intervals.
Can I use Underhood on my phone and export my records?
Yes. Use Underhood in a mobile browser or add it to your home screen. An internet connection is required to load and save records. Export service history as CSV, print reports to PDF, or download a service report with original receipts in a ZIP file.
